Advanced Actors’ Showcase Online

A Wicked Christmas Carol
For Ages 12-18

By Bobby Keniston
©2020. This show is produced by special arrangement with Broadway
Licensing/Playscripts. All rights reserved.

Note: This session’s show, A Wicked Christmas Carol, is not a musical. To ensure our students continue to build upon dancing and singing skills, there will be workshops of choreography, singing, and vocal technique throughout the session, in addition to working on the script. Students will learn several songs and dances from a variety of cultures through weekly workshops focused on choreography, singing, and vocal technique. This choreography/vocal work is not a formal part of the play, but will be recorded and shared with our families at the end of the session.

The Wicked Witch of the West wasn’t always that way, and when a ghostly figure whisks her away on a journey through her past, present, and future, she might find a second chance on Christmas Eve. Can familiar faces help to melt the Witch’s heart, or is she doomed to melt away herself? A holiday classic gets a thrilling transformation, set in the magical world of L. Frank Baum’s Oz books.

Our showcase program gives student actors the opportunity to receive top-level training as they work in an ensemble with their peers towards a final performance. The rehearsal process allows students to work with professional directors, actors, and choreographers. This is an intensive program and one that provides actors with pride of ownership as they develop skills as performers and develop confidence in their off-stage lives.

Please note that this shortened session will require all students to pre-record their auditions, to be submitted before the first rehearsal scheduled for October 17. More information and instructions will be emailed to registrants before the start of the program.

Registration opens until Thursday, October 15 at 5 pm.
