Shakespeare Masterclass AFYP

Spring 2021 registration is open!



Welcome to the World of William Shakespeare!

Students will experience a crash course including historical context and the skills necessary to study and perform Shakespearean scripts. Each student will work on a monologue throughout the class to further their understanding and practice of Shakespearean text.

This informative, animated program is perfect for students with an interest in acting/ theater, history, or literature.

Note: Openings are limited, so early registration is encouraged.


Ages:  12 – 18
Dates:  April 13 – May 18, 2021 (6 weeks)
Times:  Tuesdays, 6:45 – 8:00 pm EST
Tuition:  $215 (A $10 late fee will be added after Sunday, April 11)

Rebecca Wahls
Read about Ms. Wahls

Rebecca Wahls is a Washington D.C.-based director and actor, currently pursuing an MFA in Directing as a John Wells Fellow at Carnegie Mellon University.  Some recent professional directing work includes “Pippin” (Monumental Theatre Company); “Spills, Midnight Tracks, and We Found the Wild Things” (Who What Where Theater Collective, where she is co-founder and co-artistic director); and “Billy Shakes and the Big Screen” (AFYP, director and playwright). Ms. Wahls holds a BFA in Acting and Directing from George Mason University where she graduated as Most Outstanding in the Major and received the Students as Scholars Excellence Award for her undergraduate research work on “Dido, Queen of Carthage.” Ms. Wahls has worked as a teaching artist, director, actor, and playwright with Acting For Young People (AFYP) since 2012.
