DESCRIPTION:The 39 Steps directed by Rebecca Wahls\nMix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel\, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps\, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! Teen actors expand their comedic acting skills by taking on a variety of characters in this fast-paced\, ensemble driven production. \nThis very unique and highly intensive program gives actors the experience of developing complex characters and performing a full-length production. This program is always focused on the ensemble\, meaning each actor is given time to shine onstage. While receiving top-level training\, each actor will receive a role and will work together to create a unique design for the production and participate in the creation of sets\, costumes\, and more. This program culminates in a full-length production to be performed at the end of the week. \nAn application and successful video audition are required to participate in this program. The application deadline is April 26. DESCRIPTION:July 9 – 13\, 2024 (Tuesday-Saturday)\n9:00 am – 4:00 pm \nThe 2024 Mason Summer Conducting Symposium provides continuing professional development opportunities for conductors and educators of all levels (K-12 through professional) focused on developing gestural vocabulary and ensemble leadership. Large group masterclasses and individualized feedback will allow participants to explore new approaches to score study\, movement\, and rehearsal techniques. Students have the opportunity to participate in a Wind Band Track or Orchestral Track. \nParticipants will have an opportunity to conduct multiple times throughout the week\, receive feedback and guidance from all conducting faculty\, participate in group score study sessions\, and observe other conducting participants. Each participant is expected to play as an ensemble member when not conducting on the podium. Participants will select one of two tracks for repertoire focus: orchestral or wind band. \nRegistration Deadline: Friday\, June 14\, 2024

SUMMARY:Musical Theater Performance Bootcamp Application Due
DESCRIPTION:Advanced teen performers will join vocal instructor Emi Eiting\, along with acting coaches from Acting for Young People\, for a week of musical theater skill-building! Students will quickly learn new repertoire focusing on vocal technique\, musicality\, interpretation and movement as they celebrate the tradition of Broadway and popular music. Students will also be taught how to make quality repertoire selections for themselves\, and will be provided a list of repertoire from which to begin building their own musical theatre vocal library. The week will culminate in a high-quality performance supported by professional musicians. \nThis camp is best suited to the intermediate or advanced singer/actor who is looking to expand their skills as a soloist and in a group setting. Only students ages 13-18 will be considered for enrollment—age overrides will not be permitted for this program. \nAn application and successful video audition are required to participate in this program. Application Deadline is May 1\, 2024. Auditions will be considered on a rolling basis. All Admission Decisions will be sent by May 16.
