DESCRIPTION:MCAA is excited to announce the 30-Day Music Practice Challenge! All students currently enrolled in private music lessons at the Academy are invited to participate in this challenge starting on Monday\, February 19. Students have the opportunity to: \n\nBuild healthy and effective practice habits through establishing a consistent practice routine.\nConnect with other students across the Academy community through shared practice goals.\nLearn from our Academy music faculty about different practice techniques and tips for improving your practice habits.\nWin a feature on our Academy Practice Challenge Wall-of-Fame and a small music-themed prize!\n\nParticipating students will practice 30 days in a row and track their practice using the official Challenge Practice Log. The challenge will run Monday\, February 19 through Friday\, May 17. Throughout the challenge\, we will be posting useful practice tips from our Academy music faculty on our social media pages. We encourage you to follow along on our pages and post your own progress in the practice challenge by tagging us.

Students will enjoy the community of two large ensembles – a Jr. High and Sr. High Band – instrument specific break out sessions\, a myriad of engaging masterclasses\, recitals\, and appropriate social events. The Mason Summer Band Camp aims to give students a glimpse of student artist life at George Mason University. \nBecome a Sponsor\nMake a difference! Your support will take this meaningful program to a whole new level as we strive to provide access to the Mason Summer Band Camp for as many students as possible. SUMMARY:Musical Theater Performance Bootcamp Application Due
DESCRIPTION:Advanced teen performers will join vocal instructor Emi Eiting\, along with acting coaches from Acting for Young People\, for a week of musical theater skill-building! Students will quickly learn new repertoire focusing on vocal technique\, musicality\, interpretation and movement as they celebrate the tradition of Broadway and popular music. Students will also be taught how to make quality repertoire selections for themselves\, and will be provided a list of repertoire from which to begin building their own musical theatre vocal library. The week will culminate in a high-quality performance supported by professional musicians. \nThis camp is best suited to the intermediate or advanced singer/actor who is looking to expand their skills as a soloist and in a group setting. Only students ages 13-18 will be considered for enrollment—age overrides will not be permitted for this program. \nAn application and successful video audition are required to participate in this program. Application Deadline is May 1\, 2024. Auditions will be considered on a rolling basis. All Admission Decisions will be sent by May 16.
