David Chentian, professional cellist, has performed as a creative soloist, recitalist, symphony orchestra musician, and chamber musician across the DMV area, including various performances at Strathmore Music Center, Maryland Theatre, and Richmond Altria Theater. He accomplished his Master of Music degree and graduate performance degree from Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He is an active member of the American Federation of Musician Association, Local string piano competition judge, Artist musician on Apple, Spotify, Google Play, and Amazon music. He’s also a member of several professional symphony orchestras in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore region.
Besides performances, Mr. Chentian is also a string specialist and music educator. He has served as a string coach at the Strathmore Music Center, cello teaching artist at Mason Community Arts Academy, string coach at many youth orchestras, and competition judge of several string /piano concerto competitions and music festivals. Mr. Chentian had Suzuki string method and cello pedagogy training from the Peabody Institute, and he combines Suzuki, traditional, and unique efficient teaching methods for students. His students have earned honors at competitions including the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition and Joseph and Goldie Feder Memorial String Competition, York Symphony Youth string competition, and have won principal chairs at local youth orchestras and their school orchestras. One of his advanced students accepted by Indiana University Jacobs School of Music with granted scholarship. Mr. Chentian has a wide range of experience performing and teaching and enjoys sharing the joy of music to the community.
