Dr. Peirong Lo

Teaching Artist - Piano

Biography:

Praised as a pianist with artistic insight and dynamic energy, Dr. Peirong Lo has performed extensively in solo and chamber music in the Washington, D.C. area, including the Kennedy Center an Strathmore.

Prior to joining Mason Community Arts Academy, Dr. Lo served as a piano faculty member of the Arts Adjunct Program at Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland, and vocal accompanist at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Music Teacher Association (NVMTA) and many of her students have been selected to honor recitals in various piano festivals.

In addition to her performing and teaching career, Dr. Lo participated in a recording project with Helen Marlais in her Succeeding at the Piano Series.

Lo earned her Doctoral of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degree in Collaborative Piano from the University of Maryland and her Master of Music (M.M.) degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Her primary teachers include Rita Sloan and Brian Ganz. She also has studied with Bradford Gowen, Lambert Orkis, and Jonathan Feldman.
