Teaching Artist - Voice
Biography:
Meeryung Hall is an experienced musician with advanced classical training in vocal performance. She is passionate about teaching music and seeing her students excel beyond their expectations. She has also been actively performing for more than 30 years in solo recitals, choirs, and with orchestras in the United States, Indonesia, Australia, Korea, and India.
Ms. Hall has taught private voice around the world, including in Indonesia, Australia, Korea, India, and the United States. Her high school students have been regularly selected to perform in school musicals and participate in elite ensembles. Her students have continued their music studies in higher education programs at the Boston Conservatory, Pepperdine University, and Concordia College.
As an ethnomusicologist, Ms. Hall has studied and performed traditional music forms in Korea, Indonesia, and India. In India, she developed and performed a repertoire of Rabindranath Tagore‘s Bengali-language art songs. Tagore (1861-1941), India’s first Nobel prize winner, left a vast collection of music that until today, has been inaccessible to western classically trained musicians.
