Intro to Oil Painting for Adults Online

Oil Painting student

Through this course we will learn how to use oil paint and work toward becoming comfortable discussing our artwork. In addition to painting, we will be having class discussions, teacher demonstrations, critiques, and instructional lectures. This course will be an opportunity for new artists to explore and develop their abilities by painting multiple subjects and incorporating a variety of techniques. In this class, we will investigate color theory and practice mixing hues and shades by only using the three primary colors. The course will be composed of four projects, all with different subject matters: still-life, portrait, landscape, and an individual project. Upon completion of the course, students will have learned the technical skills needed to create interesting compositions, mix desired oil paint colors, and paint from observation.
