Creative Discoveries Camp Online


Summer 2020 registration is open!


Students in this online course will be guided through numerous activities, both through real-time instruction as well as pre-recorded videos. We will coordinate a materials kit through Plaza Art that can either be picked up curbside or delivered. Students may purchase additional materials or use household items already on hand. The online format will provide a rich learning opportunity for young children to engage in art projects while collaborating with others and guided by an experienced art educator. (Note: Adult guidance and technology support may be required for younger students)

Rachel Jenkins recently graduated from George Mason with a Master’s degree in art education. Ms. Jenkins will be teaching at both Centreville and South County High School in the upcoming school year. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Mason with a concentration in sculpture. Ms. Jenkins has thoroughly enjoyed her time studying and teaching within the county. She has taught several art classes at the Academy in the past and always look forward to creating and exploring art with her students!

Vanessa Webb is a licensed art teacher with a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) from George Mason University. Along with obtaining an education within the arts, she is a working artist within the Washington, D.C. area. Her paintings and mixed media pieces are largely inspired by surrealism.

Erin Henry received her Masters in Art Education from George Mason University in 2020. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Art and Visual Technology with a concentration in Graphic Design from George Mason in 2011. After working as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant, Ms. Henry deiced to go back to school to pursue her dream job as an Art Educator. Ms. Henry has taught multiple Mason Community Arts Academy classes in the past and enjoys the challenge of developing unique and stimulating activities to help the students grow.
