Creative Discoveries Art Camp


Discover a world of creativity this summer! Young students will have the opportunity to explore various art media such as drawing, painting, collage, and bookmaking, while learning new technical skills each day. Emphasis will be placed on self expression, material experimentation and art history. At the end of the program, family and friends can view and celebrate students’ masterpieces, featured in a student showcase in Mason’s School of Art!



Ages:  6-8 years
Dates: June 25-29 AND/OR July 23-27*, 2018

Times:  9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (M-F)
Tuition:  $399
Location:  Mason Fairfax Campus, Art & Design Building


You can choose to attend either or both weeks, as a different instructor and new curriculum will be introduced each week! To register for both, you will need to add each weekly program to your cart before final checkout/ payment.

An “After Care” option is available for this program from 4-6 pm for $90/week, located in Mason’s Performing Arts Building and staffed by the Academy’s Summer Staff. After registering for this program (but before final checkout/ payment!), search for and add “After Care” to your cart (be sure to choose the correct week).

Rebeca Chung is currently a Graduate student at George Mason University studying Art Education. She has previously taught at a private art school called J Art and at Lemon Road Elementary School. She strives to guide students to be creative and critical thinkers through art making.


Mary Dolmat, Art Lessons Instructor:  Mary Dolmat (Week of July 23-27)

Mary Dolmat received her BFA with a concentration in drawing from George Mason University in 2016, and she is currently continuing her studies at George Mason, pursuing a Masters in Art Education. She is a mixed media artist who has embraced a wide range of media to express herself such as oil paints, acrylics, watercolors, clay, textiles, printmaking, and more. When it comes to the art making, Mary believes that everyone should be exposed to and included in the creative process, and to all the wonders it can bring!
