
Overview
Spring Oil Painting: Color and Light is for beginner students or those with some oil painting experience who would like to expand upon their skills. This painting class will include research and art history all while learning and exploring the fundamentals of oil painting. You will be instructed through lectures, demonstrations, and one-on-one instruction. Students will learn from observation and progress to become skilled and confident in creating work of art with oil paint.



This semester’s course will investigate color theory, such as how color can be transformed by placing it alongside another color. Students are encouraged to repeat the class. Special topics and new material will be explored each semester.
Students are required to purchase their own brushes and bring optional household materials. All other supplies will be provided.
Required Brushes: Size 4, Size 6, Size 8
Recommended Brushes: Size 10
Suggested Household Items:
- One small airtight plastic container (sandwich size)
- Paper towels or cloth rags
