Coordinator of Music Programs and Outreach
Lucas serves as the Coordinator of Music Programs and Outreach at Mason Community Arts Academy. In this role, Lucas coordinates the Academy’s Instruments in the Attic donation program and provides administrative support to the areas of private music lessons and summer music programs. Before joining the full-time staff, Lucas held several part-time roles at the Academy from 2019 to 2025. These included serving as an administrative assistant in the main office and an onsite supervisor for the music, art, and film summer programs.
Lucas has also served as a saxophone instructor at the Academy since 2019. Lucas’ students have successfully auditioned for All-District Honor Band, received superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble Festival, and regularly perform at the Academy’s end-of-semester recitals.
Lucas holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education from George Mason University. Outside of the Academy, Lucas performs with the Penumbra Saxophone Quartet, a chamber ensemble comprised of alumni and current students from George Mason University.
