Dreamwork’s How to Train Your Dragon: The Musical JR
Overview
Based on the DreamWorks Animation hit movie, How to Train Your Dragon JR. brings fire-breathing action, epic adventure and big laughs to the stage!
Hiccup is a young Viking who defies tradition and befriends one of his deadliest foes – a ferocious dragon he calls Toothless. Together, the unlikely heroes fight against the odds to save both their worlds in this brand new theatrical adaptation.
How to Train Your Dragon JR. was created through the DreamWorks Theatricals/MTI Emerging Writers Program, a collaboration between DreamWorks Theatricals, Music Theatre International, and NBC Universal.
Our Advanced showcase program gives student actors the opportunity to receive top-level training as they work in an ensemble with their peers towards final performances. The rehearsal process allows students to work with professional directors, actors, educators, and choreographers. This is an intensive, rigorous program, and one that provides actors with pride of ownership as they develop skills as performers and develop confidence in their off-stage lives.
All students registered for this program will be cast in the show and will strengthen their acting, singing, and dancing skills throughout the process. Our Advanced actors work at an accelerated pace and work on more in-depth choreography and characterization. This show includes roles for performers with a range of acting experience. Solos, as well as ensemble singing opportunities, are available. More information and instructions will be emailed to registrants before the start of the program.
Students are expected to attend each rehearsal for the full time listed and attend all performances for their assigned cast.
