Overview
In this fun five week class, students will learn to develop music appreciation while improving their musical ear, early music literacy, motor skills, and cognitive function through musical play. Each week students will explore various instruments such as percussion, piano, strings, and recorder through activities and songs.
This music program is an excellent starter course before joining our Piano Discoveries or Violin Beginnings classes that enroll during the Fall semester.
Optional course material is a Nuvo recorder+. There is a sanitized classroom supply of recorders that will be assigned to each student and only used by that student for the duration of the session, but you may purchase your own.
Returning students are welcome! New songs and materials will be introduced each session.

Spencer Knutti grew up in Northern Virginia and is currently a music education student at the University of North Texas, where he plays euphonium and participates in a number of different concert and marching ensembles. He loves to play whatever instrument he can get his hands on, and his collection is steadily growing! Spencer adores sharing his love for music with students of all ages, whether that be through teaching general music, band, orchestra, or marching band classes. He has greatly enjoyed being a part of the Little Creators classes and is excited to develop a better understanding of early childhood arts education.
In his free time (that isn’t spent playing wind instruments), Spencer loves to bake, read, go on walks and hikes, and daydream about getting a cat.
