Biography
Saxophone Instructor

Nate Casey is a resident of Springfield, Virginia and is a saxophone instructor at both Mason Community Arts Academy and Potomac Music in Lorton, Virginia.
Just like he was inspired to become the best saxophonist he could be by his mentors, Mr. Casey hopes to make a positive impact in his community by motivating the next generation of students to become accomplished musicians. He teaches all levels of saxophone, while also focusing on aural skills and music theory. Mr. Casey’s students have participated in Virginia All District bands and the Virginia Winds Academy youth wind ensemble. He often teaches saxophone sectionals in both Fairfax County and Prince William County public schools.
Mr. Casey is a member of the Capital Wind Symphony, the Penumbra Quartet, the Four for a Dollar Quartet, and occasionally plays in various community ensembles in Northern Virginia. He was a participant of the 2025 American Saxophone Academy. Additionally, Mr. Casey often performs at the annual Navy Band Saxophone Symposium. At the 2024 symposium, he performed in masterclass for international soloist Valentine Michaud.
Mr. Casey is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Music in Saxophone Performance at George Mason University, where his primary saxophone teachers have been Ed Fraedrich and Connor Mikula. Outside of music, he is interested in a variety of technology related topics like computer science, aerospace, aviation, and electronics.
