Clarinet Teaching Artist

Stephanie Bueche is an active performer and teacher who has worked across the U.S. in Michigan, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia. Originally from West Michigan, their musical career took off in high school with a performance at the prestigious Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Since then, Stephanie has been dedicated to pursuing music at the highest level and strives to share that passion with their students.
As a performer, Stephanie currently serves as co-principal clarinet of the Ohio Light Opera and has performed frequently with the Paducah Symphony Orchestra and various ensembles in the Nashville area. In 2024, they were selected to give a performance at the International Clarinet Association Conference in Dublin, Ireland. In 2022, they toured the U.S. with the GVSU New Music Ensemble, performing a series of newly commissioned works inside National Parks.
As an educator, Stephanie served on the faculty at the Paducah Symphony Orchestra Academy and taught clarinet methods and general education courses at Austin Peay State University. Aside from their current role at Mason Community Arts Academy, they also provide woodwind instruction at Meridian High School and maintain a private studio that has celebrated many student achievements in honors bands and festivals over the last 7 years.
Stephanie is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts under the study of Dr. Kathleen Mulcahy at George Mason University, where they also serve as instructor of record for various music courses and as graduate teaching assistant to the clarinet studio. They received their Master of Music from Austin Peay State University and their Bachelor of Music from Grand Valley State University, with primary teachers including Spencer Prewitt, Arthur Campbell, and Gary June.
