Piano Instructor

Ya-Chi Tang, pianist, is a native of Taiwan. Starting her piano journey at age six, Ms. Tang excelled in Taiwan’s Special Music Program and later embraced the viola, undergoing professional training throughout her junior high school years. Ms. Tang has been awarded first prize in the Taiwan National Student Music Competition in Piano Performance and she also achieved first prize recognition in the Baroque Music Competition through her exceptional piano performances.
Driven by a passion for exploration, Ms. Tang revels in experimenting with various expressions and styles, finding joy not only in solo piano but also in collaborative piano. Her first year of graduate study at George Mason University has been immersed in numerous solo piano and collaborative piano performance opportunities. She performed not only in recitals and piano masterclasses but also collaborated with the Mason Wind Symphony and collaborated with Mason vocalists. With joyful anticipation, she also performed the piano concerto as the soloist with the Mason Symphony Orchestra in 2024 spring.
With her creative and interesting personal characteristics, she looks forward to sharing her passion for music and zest for life through her teaching. Ms. Tang aspires to continue bringing pleasant music to the world, introducing more people to the beauty and joy of music.
Ms. Ya-Chi Tang is currently pursuing a Master’s in Piano Performance at George Mason University under the tutelage of Dr. Linda Apple Monson, International Steinway Artist. Additionally, she graduated with distinction from the University of Taipei, Taiwan, with a dual Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Learning And Materials Design. Ms. Tang is also a freelancer in graphic and interior design.
