Creative Writing: Intro to Fiction for Adults

Overview

Facets of Fiction: An Introductory Writing Workshop

Where are you in your storytelling journey? Are you a morning writer or one for midnight marathons? Do you excel at plot but struggle with characterization? In this introductory fiction course, hone the basics and come face-to-face with your writing process.

This five-week creative writing workshop is for new writers and writers who want to better grasp their approach to fiction, experiment with different forms and genres, and talk about their work with other creatives in the community. Each class will touch on a different form of fiction in conjunction with core elements such as characterization, setting, and plot. Students can expect in-class exercises, weekly writing prompts, and instructor and peer feedback.

There is light out-of-class reading and at-home writing expected for the full learning experience. This course hopes to unveil each individual’s unique habits to further incorporate writing into life post-workshop.

Writing is personal; discover what it looks like to you!
