Biography:

Jennifer Decker, Lyric Soprano, is a George Mason University Alumni and earned a Master of Music in Vocal Performance (2015) and a BM in Vocal Performance (2000) while studying under Professor Patricia Miller. Upcoming engagements include: recital at Catholic University with pianist Martin Gallegos Fall 2018; soloist for the joint production of Handel’s Messiah by Osbourn Park, Freedom, and Patriot High Schools – Hylton Center Dec 2018. Past engagements include soloist for PWC Armed Forces Day – May 2018; performing in the Hylton Center’s Matinee Idylls series entitled “Soprano Soiree” – Feb 2018; graduating with the 2017 class for Leadership Prince William; Soloist for Prince William County Memorial Day ceremony – May 2017; Soprano Soloist for the OPHS combined Choir/Orchestra Messiah concert – Dec 2012-2016; combined piano/vocal recital with colleague Martin Gallegos – August 2016; Soloist for Prince William County Memorial Day ceremony – May 2016; directing the children’s chorus for GMU Opera’s production of “La vie de La Boheme”- Dec 2015; Soloist for the Senator Colgan tribute at the Hylton Performing Arts Center – Sept 2015; singing the role of Elsie in the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop production of Yeomen of the Guard – July 2015; as well as many opera roles and frequent recitals around the community. She enjoys her day job of Executive Board Liaison/Executive Assistant/Office Manager at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, in addition to serving as a Teaching Artist of private voice lessons for GMU’s Mason Community Arts Academy.
