Violin Teaching Artist

Russian-born violinist, Gersh Chervinsky, is a violin virtuoso soloist, recitalist, chamber musician and teacher. As a dedicated teacher, he also maintains a private violin studio in Rockville, Maryland, directs the Jewish Orchestra of Youth in Silver Spring, Maryland, and is the head of the string department at the European Academy of Arts in Chantilly. 

Mr. Chervinsky has performed with star musicians such as Joshua Bell, Amit Peled, Dana Marsh and others. Additionally, he has performed in various notable venues, including the Bolshoy Hall of Moscow Conservatory, the Hong Kong Cultural Center Music Hall, and the Friedberg and Griswold Concert Halls at the Peabody Conservatory.  He regularly collaborates with The Washington Bach Consort, Alexandria Symphony Orchestra, The Apollo Orchestra and Baltimore Baroque Band as associate concertmaster. 

Mr. Chervinsky has been a participant of the prestigious Keshet Eilon Festival (Israel, 2019), The London Purcell School Music Festival (England, 2013) and the second award winner at Cremona Music Festival and Competition (Italy, 2012). 

He completed his Graduate Performance Diploma in Historical Performance at the Peabody Conservatory and received a Master of Music Performance Degree from the Jacobs School of Music in 2020, preceded by a Bachelor’s Degree in violin preformance from the Moscow Conservatory.
